is there a risk of "bricking" a psp when attempting to hack it?

I’m using a softmod hack tht doesn’t require the pandora battery soon.

Just curious if theres a threat of it getting bricked during the install? ( excluding turning off during etc ) ( Just doing it normaly & boom. “bricked” )

When I install Official Firmware on my PSP it gets bricked?

I got my PSP bricked when I tried to install an OFW when it was already hacked thinking that it would delete the hack. So I ordered a pandora battery and MMS and unbricked it but when i click install OFW5.00 it just gets bricked again.
Can you tell me if i did something wrong because i dont need CFW for now.

psp battery isn\’t recognized?

I was playing my PSP (it’s either a 1000 or 1001) and the battery went low, so I plugged it in to charge it with the AC adapter. Usually when you plug it in to charge, the power light goes orange but it went green. From my knowledge, It only ever goes green when you play it on the battery.

Now, I can’t play the PSP on the battery because for some odd reason, the system doesn’t recognize that it is running on a battery and will not turn on. It only ever works when it is plugged in signifying that the battery is not charging/recognizing the battery.

This has happened once before and somehow I resolved it but it started acting up again and I can’t figure it out. I vaguely remember opening the back battery cover and then putting it back on and it worked the first time this happened.
For this round, I’ve tried taping the battery down, taping the cover down, pushing on different parts of the battery and the battery cover and the light will flash to orange (showing that it is charging) for some time but then go back to green (while on the adapter).

I honestly don’t know what else to do. It’s a refurbished system that I bought back in Fall 2011 and it was working fine. This is only the second time this situation has happened since I bought it.

Any insight or answer as to what is happening and how to resolve this problem is much appreciated!

i do not have a magic memory stick or a pandora battery. is it possible for me to get custom firmware? how?

Bought a pandora battery and Magic Memory stick for PSP 3000, but it won\’t hack. Anyway to make it hackable?

I just bought a pandora battery and magic memory stick and because I have the PSP 3000 its unhackable. I saw a way to make it hackable, but it’s really long and complicated. Does anyone know an easier way? P.S. The way i saw it was I had to download this format thing and make a bunch of files and delete some…It didn’t make sense.

Per sbaglio mentre tentavo di aggiornare il CF della mia PSP 2004 dal 5.00 m33 al 5.50 GEN-D si è istallato il firmware originale. C’è un qualche modo per installare un CF senza utilizzare magic memory e pandora battery? Non voglio ritornare ai Firmware originali della Playstation… come cavolo dovrei fare a giocare FFVII in italiano senza?

I fully bricked my psp and ordered a pandora battery,but i dont want to use the CFW it comes with,is there anyway to unbrick to OFW so i can just hack to the CFW i want?
