My computer (desktop) still freezes even after I’ve run Registry Easy, defraged the HD and did a virus check.?

My computer (desktop) still freezes even after I\’ve run registry easy, defraged the HD and did a virus check.?

My computer used to run perfectly until about a week ago when it started freezing. Sometime it would freeze even before it boots up Windows. I suspect that the processor is overheating or that there’s something wrong with the motherboard. Does anyone know of a program (free or not) that can check and detect if there’s something wrong with the Processor or motherboard.

What components do I need to produce 8 Volts 200mA?

by Chris on Dec.30, 2011, under Spy Camera

What components do I need to produce 8 Volts 200mA?

Hello & Good day to you all,

I’m making my own powercell for a miniature wireless CCTV camera (Link Below for specs)

http://www.bestofferbuy.com/wireless-pinhole-spy-camera-hidden-spycam-nanny-cctv-12ghz-ntsc-p-14478.html

After spending stupid money on sh*t 9 volt batteries (600mAh = £11 EACH) – ive had enough of the crap and absolutely absurdly LOW capacity 9 volt batteries out there (when TODAY’s ‘D’ cell is capable of 11,000mAh !!!) and extremely high cost – i am making a battery-pack to power my receiver and another power-pack for the wireless camera using 8 x AA 3800mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

I should add that my existing 9-volt (2 new & 1 old) rechargeable batteries are a little-more-than USELESS (Rated @ 175mAh…{USELESS}) as the receiver drinks the power (juice, lol) at an extremely FAST-Rate… 15 minutes of use and its DEAD. 10 mins of use from the old 9 volt battery. And thats all from a 9 hour charge… How pitiful…Despicable, even…

Now i got the idea to use a semiconductor from an instructable to make a simple solder-fume-extractor… (Link Below!) and also i know that resistors can reduce the voltage and amperage output of a circuit……….

http://makeprojects.com/Project/Mini-Fume-Extractor/21/1

So my 8 x 3800mAh AA batteries = 9.6 Volts

But i need to add a semiconductor and a resistor to my battery-pack so that the output (in volts) is 8 volts MAX and output (in milliamps) is 200mA…

My question is which semiconductor and resistor ?????

I have calculated, researched, ‘Googled’, calculated again, more googled & now im going to give up and finally cry-out — HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol

Please please please can anyone help me find the components i need to make my very simple circuit for my battery pack !

I know that the use of a semiconductor (3 pin only) can let in a certain voltage and only output a specific voltage & amperage – i think i’ll be needing a combination of a semiconductor and a resistor but i’ve searched continuous for 3 months now and am now irritated that i still haven’t found what im looking for! ffs!

Many thanks in advance for some light on this darn-troubling matter….

P.S. 2 days at a time, many times a month – i have been researching! (& 8 liters of red-bull equivalent to help !) Yes. I’m a caffeine Nut. And NO, im not cutting down, Its sugar free tho, lol !

Please Help !!!

Power-Specification For My Gear:

Wireless Receiver:
DC 12V 500mA

Wireless Camera:
DC 8V 200mA

Ingredients So Far:
- 20 x AA 3800mAh Batteries
- Solder Tabs for battery Packs
-Small to medium collection of semiconductors + & – output voltages (from -24v to +25v) and from 100mA to 1.5mA amperage…
- Heatshrink (40mm, 50mm, 70mm)
- 5 x Battery Boxes/Cases (with bare wires and built-in switch) {4 x AA per box}

Two Examples of the closest semiconductors i could find to meet my requirements:

1.

2.

http://cpc.farnell.com/on-semiconductor/mc78m08ctg/v-reg-8-0v-78m08-to-220-3/dp/SC08349

Again, many thanks in advance for all help given !

A question on electricity?

by Chris on Dec.30, 2011, under Multimeter

A question on electricity?

A milliammeter with a full scale deflection of 10mA and internal resistance 5ohms is to be modified to become an ammeter with a full scale deflection of 5.0A.
What type of arrangement of resistors and value of resistance should be connected to modify the milliammeter?
Arrangement of the resistor (with the ammeter) Value of resistance/Ohm
A. Parallel 0.01
B. Series 0.01
C. Parallel 10.00
D. Series 10.00

I really hope that you can help me with this question. My major examination is just around the corner and I still don’t know how to go about solving this question! Please help me out!! Thanks!

Gaming computer build is not starting up…?

by Chris on Dec.28, 2011, under Multimeter

Gaming computer build is not starting up…?

So I got all my pieces for a budget gaming computer. The other day I started putting everything together. I got all the pieces together & wires connected & all. I plugged the power supply in & turned it on. I LED on the mobo turned on but none of the fans in the case turned on & when I press the power button on the case, nothing happens. Yes, everything is plugged in. I thought it might be an issue with the 2 pin cords for the power button, reset button, etc. but I don’t seem to see any problem with them. I have a multimeter & I was going to check the power supply, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet…

The mobo is Asus F1A75-M LE
The power supply is just a cheap 400W from Diablotek. It’s the DA series ATX power supply.
The case is the HAF 912 series from Cooler Master. At the moment, I’m just using the fans that come included in the case.

It is a possibility that the power supply is the problem due to the fact that I can not see the fan in the power supply moving when turned on, but wouldn’t that mean that the light on the mobo wouldn’t turn on either?

Thanks.
Oh, sorry. The processor is an AMD A8 Quad core 2.9 Ghz.
The RAM is HyperX 8GB DDR3 from Kingston
I’m currently using the integrated chipset included on the board. Eventually I’ll add a video card & crossfire but for now, the 1 GB is enough for SWTOR which at the moment, is all I’ll be playing.

Yeah, the power supply is what I always expected but my dad wanted to just investigate a little more to see if there was another problem. I plan on buying another one anyways from Cooler Master or as you suggested, Corsair.
