ps3 mod chip noob?????????

I’ve never heard of this before until today so I want to get this straight. If i buy this http://www.gadget-asia.com/home/games-and-consoles/sony-playstation-3/accessories/world-s-first-ps3-modchip-ps-jailbreak-plug-and-play.html?src=gb_us&currency=USD will it really allow me to burn games onto my ps3.
